Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce holds their First Friday Breakfast this Friday, November 2nd at the Hilton Garden Inn. Chamber President Ted Owen will present "Market To A New Economy, Is There A Market For Your Business or Product In Carlsbad?" This is a great networking breakfast.

RBN Networking will hold a networking luncheon on Thursday, November 1st at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The Palomar Airport Chapter of Ali Lassen's Leads Club will meet Wednesday, October 31st for breakfast at Marie Calendars on Avenida Encinas.

I'm participating in a Blog Carnival about why I'm a WAHM (Work At Home Mom). I really don't refer to myself that way. I used to be a work at home mom in the late '80s and early '90s. I cherished the time I was able to work from home while raising my daughter.

I know there are young mothers and fathers struggling to establish their online, or offline, businesses while raising their children. To you, I say, kudos...you'll never regret the sacrifices you are making today, for your children. When they graduate from high school and move on to college or their first job, you'll look back and see what a difference it made to stay home with your children.

We have so many opportunities to start great homebased businesses with all the new technology. When I was at home publishing my newspaper I didn't have any of this. All I have to say is, being homebased and raising our own children is the ONLY way to go. You'll never, never regret your decision to become a WAHM.

Join me at the Vista Chamber's third annual Business and Technology Expo and Taste of Vista being held Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. at 3215 Executive Ridge (at Poinsettia Ave.) in the Vista Business Park. This year's Expo will have a record 119 exhibitors this year, up from 80 in 2005. This makes the Vista Expo the largest in North San Diego County this year. Organizers expect a crowd of 1,000 people to attend.

Business Owners can register here for a free expo pass, sent to you via email.

The Vista Chamber's Business and Technology Expo will include a Technology Pavilion with six free seminars from 3:30 to 6 p.m. No RSVP is necessary, although seating is limited. The Expo will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. at 3215 Executive Ridge in the Vista Business Park.

I'll be podcasting the Tech Pavilion Seminars, as well as interviewing many of the sponsors and exhibitors. Look for me...of course, I'll be wearing my hat!

Even though I'm an empty nester now, I'm willing to think about the "greater good" and vote yes, in support of the proposition. It's about our future, whether it's making sure our great schools attract business to our community, keep our property rates strong and providing the best education to our kids as possible.

On July 20th the four North County Chambers held a joint sundowner. It was at TriCity Hospital. Even though it was a hot evening and very crowded, I thought the networking was fantastic. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and it was hard to run into the same person more than twice during the three hours we were there.

Here are some of the small business owners I ran into at the mixer. They were brave enough to spend a few moments with me, podcasting. Maybe you'll hear someone you know, or a service you could use. Enjoy!

On Thursday, July 20th from 4pm to 7pm the four Chambers of North County will hold a joint Sundowner. Join members from Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista and San Marcos at Tri City Hospital for one of the largest, and "most excellent" sundowners of the year.

The investment is a mere $10, 2 lattes, and you'll find all of us downstairs in the Assembly Room at Tri City Hospital. I'll be the one with the big hat interviewing attendees. You just have to come!!!
